Sometimes tutoring requires our own learning refreshers, and that’s great! It’s an excellent way to model to students a positive and growth-mindset. As near peers, your tutees see you as role models, and your continued presence and guidance is so valuable.
Unfortunately, as a direct service program, we have limited reach. This is due to the number of tutors we can recruit, scheduling constraints, and transportation logistics. But on December 8, we will have an opportunity for BTC to support students beyond our usual reach during a Peer Tutoring Summit. We are seeking up to 10 tutors to support the morning by joining small group conversations with Narragansett High School students and Moses Brown high school students who are peer tutors at their respective schools.
