As reading period begins the week of 12/8, most sites will be wrapping up tutoring on December 5, which is the Friday following Thanksgiving! Please review these key reminders:
- We will be sharing an end-of-semester tutor survey next week. Part of this will ask about your commitment for next semester. In most cases, even if your schedule changes, we should be able to keep you at the same site if you want (oftentimes, a different day can work just fine with sites). Site leaders will be coordinating this end of January when folks are back on campus.
- As you end your tutoring engagements for the semester, be clear and direct with students about goodbyes or seeing them again. For example, “this is our last session for 2025, I’m glad we got to work together!” And, be cautious of promises. For example, rather than saying, “I promise I’ll be back in February!”, consider, “The school and Brown have to set the schedule for the rest of the school year. I hope we will keep working together!”
- Save the date: December 11th 5:30pm. We will have an end-of-semester BTC gathering to share highlights, have a study break, and connect as a program. Snacks provided!
